Topic: too many open friend requests....
As a pretty recent user I am trying to make a lot of new friends here on hi5 (isn't this what this is all about ? ;-) ...
I am getting the 'too many open friend request message'.
I appreciate this is here to avoid system overload, I am not spamming anyone, just trying to get in contact with people all over the world and hi5 is a great tool to do this...
Is there some kind of timer which times out unanswered friend requests (after a week or so) or do I have to wait untill someone accepts or cancels one to be able to send out a new one ?
In the mean time I save interesting profiles in my favorites so this is not an issue ;-)
Thanks for any feedback ;-)

Yes HI5, please fix this. At least give us some method of deleting the open requests. We are on HI5 to make friends. I realize there will always be jerks who want to spam, or do other irritating stuff. Proactive is better than reactive.

I don't think so - hi5 says they delete open requests after 60 days - BUT - I have a request I received on 2/2 that is still there. I'm not going to decline it - just waiting to see how long it takes.

@ Didi Jacky,
Dave was just reminding that i has been 3 weeks since hi5 put this ban on us, and since we told them about it.

The 60 day limit is false.
I have a pending request since last year.

Team hi5!
This is really unfair!

I don't think any other networking site completely bans their faithful users from adding any new friends!

I've 'heard' (not certain),:

That spammers got their IP's banned for only 24 hours on hi5!

Posters of pornography got banned for a only week!

But why us?

Limit us to 500 a day, 100 a day, or even 50 a day!
But don't shut us out just like that! It's totally unfair!

I'm a big fan of hi5.
I've even helped on this group and other groups allot.

But you aren't treating back your members nicely by doing this to us.

I've just finished exams, looking forward to adding and meeting new people. But I cannot do so on hi5 because I'm banned from doing so...

Even our new members like Didi Jacky are being affected also. What a bad example to set for our newcomers.
(Yes Didi, I think meeting allot of new friends is what social networking is supposed to be about...)

I'll be over at myspace and facebook for the while.
Cheers to them! ^_^

But I'll check back on hi5 daily still to see if this is resolved, because I really 'liked' hi5 better.

OK, got it !

Yes it's really unfair...

I am not spamming, they should block users from sending repeated friend requests to the same users to stop spam instead of limiting us like this !
I can certainly live with the fact if someone denies a friend request I am not able to send this person another friend request in the coming x days/months, can always contact the person by message and ask him/her to send me one if I feel this deny was a mistake ...

So please block repeated friend requests to the same person instead of choking us when people do not deny or accept our friend requests but keep them in their list...

Also limiting the number of friend requests in someone's inbox would be a solution to have them answer/reject.

Will also show the one sending the request if the remote person is stil active on hi5.

The limit is set on the wrong end of the chain and is apparently not cleared in time...

Oh well if it stays this way only thing left is start our own Hi5 ;-) LOL
