This is a group for people from any background, whatever their religious convictions, who wish to voice their objection to the inhuman and intolerable practise of Female Genital Mutilation. This group does not oppose religion, but welcomes anyone from any religion who wishes to speak out against and contribute to sparing girls and women from the pain of Female Genital Mutilation.

*****WHAT'S NEW*****: The latest addition to the site is a video library, courtesy of Ozlem. We have added a Reference and Information Library where members can access links to sources with information on FGM. We've also added a thread with links to NGO's and organisations campaigning against FGM. You can access these threads on the blue links under Useful Information.
TERMINOLOGIES: Female Genital Mutilation is also known as: Infibulation, female genital cutting, female circ*mcision, excision, and female genital alteration. All of these terms refer to the practise of cutting the genital areas of girls and women, none of them is any way less of an assault on the dignity of girls or women or any less of a gross violation of human rights.
No good god would hate women so much that he would let them be deprived of their sexual identity and pleasure. If god did not intend for women to enjoy their sexuality, he would have created them without the capacity for it.
I would also encourage all members who can to provide additional information or links to groups which are working to eradicate the practise of female genital mutilation.
We also welcome any other information contributions made by members.
Female Genital Mutilation is not a harmless cultural Practice. It is an assault on the dignity and human rights of women and children.
