Lidia, to be honest, I don't know, I am rather reluctant to ask, I have a friend in Egypt and after reading the statistics of FGM in Egypt I found that I struggled to get myself to the point where I wanted to know.

Inga, what do they say about the fact that they had been subjected to it? And what do they say about FGM in general?

hi, i just join the group. i read a couple of books written by African muslim ladies in which they mention abt the FMG. it's absurd that such a "tradition" still exists nowadays. i still have the cries of the baby of the video in my ears...

Hi Francesca, welcome to the group. I watched that video once, and that was a few months ago, I cannot imagine the calm with which that woman is causing such misery on the little girl. All in the name of a misplaced sense of traditional chastity. It really is sad.

it is and i cant even understand how they can think it is a tradition and not stop it after they themselves suffered for it.
