Minutes of the SJC Meeting – Wednesday 22nd October 2008 5:45pm

Past Pupils
Primary Focus: The Past Pupils Association has faded. It is the intention that the Association should
rekindle primarily for the problems/assistance for the school and to tap into resources from the
Alumni/raise funds to assist the school. The goals of the newly formed association are for e.g.
- Rebuilding of the wing
- Other ideas to help school/students
- Help each other
- Sister Rufina informed the group that next month would be a year that the earthquake
damaged the Form 1/5 wing.
- Engineer Egbert Louis has advised that the wing should be demolished and rebuilt;
- Presently Forms 1 and 2 students are housed at Girls Vocational;
- It is estimated that EC$1.1 million received from insurance is not sufficient for all damages.
Building costs estimated at EC$4 million
Without the rebuilded of the wing , it is possible SJC will not be able to take in new students from next September 2009
Other Needs/Priority –
- Enclosing Lower Court (due to unauthorized use and vandalizing).
- Construction of Library/Resource Room over annex
- Refurbishment and equipping of IT Lab refurbishments
Other Projects include:
- Refurbishment of Home Economics Room
- Resurfacing of entire driveway
- Fencing (Back of the school as well as the lower areas)
- Painting
- Replacement of furniture (especially for Staff and Forms 4 and 5 Students)
