The book really exsists but I beleieve its made from human skin containig dark spells and anicient incantations. heheh

I've heard of such a thing, usually associated with bibles, grimoires, the fabled (and fictional) necronomicon.

It /seems/ that it was a cheap-ish source of leather way-back-when. Now is rather obscure is where they got the leather. There are stories of people leaving their skin in their will to bind a family bible or koran in; maybe medical texts using left over bits of corpse.

as to why?

Same reason people do all sorts of dumb things. It's kinda icky and kewl at the same time.

is it a book to trust? maebe yes, maebe not.....its a very good book, but...somethings dont connect, but with all respect dont mean ,that if dosn`t work with some people, it may work with others. the power is more in the wise man or witch ,or in anyone who wants to learn and live that life... the book will only help the path
