Actually they called it the Black land because they were black Africans not because of the fertile soil that came from the beggining of the nile in ethiopia.

look hikuptah, i have no doubt that egyptians were africans. yes, i totally agree. but they weren`t black. just look at those statues n pictures in the tombs..-they had dark complexion. but in comparison with other african cultures` people they were brighter. egyptians weren`t black men.
