Just be prepared to leave your old live behind you, studying architecture will be very time consuming but very satisfying. You cannot "just" study architecture or "just" do architecture. It'll occupy your whole thinking, seeing, and making. It'll become your life, no more distinction of free time and working time. Your thoughts will continously circling around the projects you'll doing. But in the end it's the most satisfying thing you can do: "shaping something out of air"

I'm in the same situation as you Mirna, except i've already sent my application to study architecture at university. I would appreciate any opinions/advice on what it's like.

I completed my bachelors in 2005 and am now applying for my masters in Engineering Management. Architecture has been a part of my life since I was born, because my father is also an architect (hence my love for it). When u begin to study it and love itt, it changes the way you view your world and your appreciation for the built environment as u learn it impacts every facet of human life, like your emotions etc. However, don't let that distract u, it can be tough but as long as u remain determined (cause its a 5 yr course) and resiliant, I know you can make it too. Best of luck.

make sure that you are ready for a lot of hours of work. it is not a simple job that you live it when you leave your desk. you will carry the thoughts of your projects for ever. also be prepared for agreements and disagreements with a lot of other people....architects or not.....it is an everyday war that you have to win....you will have to support your ideas not just in front of some people or clients but in front of the whole society and for more than a lifetime...
your works should do people's lives better and this is a tough matter....u must not think of yourself
read a book of le corbusier "vers une architecture" (1923)
