Greetings all and sundry. My name is Julien and I have been a trekkie for about 15 years. Everyone: Hi Julien!
Well when I was younger and first discovered Trek (TOS and TNG) I loved it because of the special effects and action and aliens and so forth and it really helped with my budding creativity.
But as I got older I still appreciated the above but also began recognising the deeper msgs in the storylines - and I mean, all great SciFi has to have some type of real world analogy.
But enough rambling. On to my question. Trekkies and Trekkers all, who of the five series captains is your favourite and tell us why. U can rank them in descending order if u like. I'll start it off:
Jean Luc-Picard - Just because Patrick Stewart is such a fabulous actor (Shakespearean trained and all dat) and brought such strength and authority to that character as well as emotional depth when necessary.
Secondly is Benjamin Sisko - he was just so cool and the character so multidimensional. And I just love my DS9.
Kirk - cuz he's Kirk, de original and he always gets the ladies.
Janeway - I liked her strength but that was about it. And the early seasons' hairstyle was just wrong.
Archer - should have never been a captain. NEVER! Shud have stuck with Quantum Leap. Maybe QL:TNG?
