I am an Oji-Cree mother of Two deep spirited children.
My Roots are in Northern Manitoba and Southern Ontario.
I identify strongly as a First Nation Women.
My goals and dreams are all geared toward that.
I become a better me everyday. Improved versions is an aspiration, looking forward to each one.
There is still alot of ground work that needs to be covered. I feel responsible to my people, my childrens children, and to every ignoramus, what exactly it is that makes us so beautiful.
I've been fortunate to be apart of two great Projects.
"Cool Jobs" has been a great success, I'm so proud of the series and happy to have been apart of it.
"Next-a series for Aboriginal Youth" was very exciting. I Co-hosted along with Ian Mozden. We had a very interesting time, learned alot about social issues and ourselves. We met and interviewed a wide range of people. From Phil Fontain to people living on the street. We also experienced what we were reporting, such as snowboarding to stand up comedy. I'm even more aware of how capable First Nations are, i am so proud of our young artists. Visit www.urnext.ca
Now, i am going to receive formal training in Broadcasting. I feel i have the experience and want to learn more and get the credentials on my Resume. I look for inspiration in Strong women who also carry with them their identity like Sheila North and Lisa Meeches. They are integrating who they are in their careers, which i feel is everyones responsibility.
I enjoy testing myself. So i will participate in every opportunity.
On the flip side, i deeply appreciate my privacy and home life. Especially since my children are young. Parenting is thee most important aspect of life. I take it very seriously. My son prays before meals and at night, creating a spiritual foundation is something i have been fortunate to have. Appreciation is vital.
