How many times have you looked back over your life to see what you’ve accomplished?
How many times have you asked the question, “How far have I really come?”
How often have you looked in your past to gage your present?
How can you say today when you haven’t looked at yesterday?
I have not only looked, but I have gained in the look.
I know now that the day starts with the craziest feelings,
But always seems to end with the best possible moment.
I know that no matter how fast things tend to move,
They slow down at the splendor of all beauty God has provided.
I know now that the love of a child is more important than the hope of a grown up.
Because through it all, that child’s love doesn’t end.
I know now that good-bye is not forever.
So many have said it only to come back time and time again.
I know now that the love of a good woman can never be replaced by the
Touch of any other woman.
No matter how the other woman touches you.
I know now that no matter how low I get, as long as I keep reaching,
The top is still closer than the bottom.
I know now that family will love you even if you’re wrong.
And if they don’t, they’re still family after the fact.
I know now that a good friend doesn’t have to know everything to
Truly be the loving friend they say they are.
I know that no matter how much love I give,
God fills me up again to love way more than I ever thought.
I know now that if given the chance,
I can reach any height or go to any depth to succeed.
And in all I now know, I know it because before, I didn’t.
Back then I assumed or pushed on an assumption.
Back then I gave without an understanding.
Back then I didn’t believe when I should have.
Back then it was easier to show a smoking mirror than stand on a promise.
Back then I was lost and confused.
Back then I didn’t understand my own power and perception.
Back then I was a work in progress over a finished work on it’s way to perfection.
Back then it was easier to say, well, than to say yes.
Back then tomorrow didn’t matter as much for what it can be than what it was.
So in looking back, I know back then made now better
Tomorrow is my promise and my pasture.
I can do more because I know now.
I can go farther because I see now.
And I can love deeper because I love now.
