hi5 Volunteer Translation Program hi5 is currently being translated into over 50 languages!
The hi5 translation tool allows members
all over the world to translate and maintain hi5
in different languages. This means we can
make hi5 accessible to more of your friends :-)
Don't see your language on hi5 yet? We're continually
adding new languages, so please check back soon.

Question: I want to help translate! How do I start?
Answer: Join the hi5 language group for your language.
Then you'll have access to the translation tool, instructions,
group message board, and other resources.
Question: What can I do besides suggesting translations?
Answer: Vote on other people's translations!
No translation will be considered accepted until it has
enough votes. So please vote for the best translation
of each phrase, by clicking on the green + icon in the voting box
Question: How is hi5 making sure that the translations are good?
Answer: There are several ways hi5 ensures quality:
Voting! All translators may vote for the best translation of each phrase. The Translation with the most votes is accepted.
Linguists! hi5 chooses the best volunteer translators to become hi5 linguists. Linguists do a second level of review on translations to correct any errors.
Independent Review. hi5 does a final round of review and quality assurance with language professionals before the language goes live on the site.
Question: Why involve members in the translation process?
Answer: Members know hi5 better than anyone!
Your understanding of the context surrounding each phrase
on hi5 helps make you a really good translator.
Question: I'm in the Top Contributors Gallery for my language.
What does my score mean?
Answer: You are given points for both translating and voting.
Longer sentences are worth more points than short phrases,
translating is worth more points than voting, and extra points
are awarded for translations when they become approved.
Question: How do I change my language on hi5?
Answer: Click on the little globe icon at the top corner of any
hi5 page. This will open the language selector, where you can
change your language. The language that you are currently browsing
hi5 in is marked in bold.
A fix to the section counts problem is going out in this week's release (should be live by May 8th).
Here's whats changing on the review by section page:
-A bug that was causing some people's section counts to be wrong has been fixed.
-The % complete column has been removed (let us know if you miss it for some reason)
-Regular translators will see only sections that have unfinished work in them or sections that they have done translations in. The other sections are hidden since they don't contain anything for translators to do. Linguists still see all sections.
Together, these changes should make the counts more accurate. Please let us know if you have any problems with this page.
Hi, Translator! I was just looking around and I saw your profile and decided to post a coment just to say that I liked it and I think it's a wondeful idea to translate HI5 in many languages as possible. I'm with you and many more, so I want to leave this message: If anybody who speaks only catalan and need a hand on english or portuguese you can count on me.. :) Kisses
Si qualsevol que parla només catalan necessita una mà en anglès o portuguès pot comptar amb la meva ajuda.. :) Petons
