I am Half Dene and Half Cree, I was born in the bush, northern saskatchewan, i was taught with freedom and love for the land, and then i moved to the city, trailer parks and ghetto's, my uncles and aunties and father were all apart of the red power, american indian movement, and took part of the alcatraz occupation, i grew up with these values which helps me become the person i am today, i am strict with my immediate family, i run a tight household and very particular of who comes and goes in my home.

I remember when I was a kid, my late father and my uncles would say to me, "if you listen to the forest, it will tell you things". So I did, I remember I was 10 or 11, I would sit there in the bush for what seemed like hours. Waiting for a voice to come out and talk to me. It wasn't till I was about 17 or 18 until i heard it, it was very simple but hard to find, but also very distinct. Something i will never forget, the day the forest talked to me.

A long, long road lined with Indians Criss crossed by broken treaties and many white men of many sorts
Some of them killed as many Indians as they possibly could many Indians of many sorts
Along came a turtle leading the seventh generation many Indians of many sorts
Along came another turtle leading the seventh generation many leaders of many sorts
A long, long road lined with Indians that can barely move what a job to lead or follow
So these two turtles met with poetic justice in a dry barren land
Refreshing each others spirit with their breath as they shared dreams and understandings
These turtles were walking they lost each others paths yet they were going to the same place
These turtles kept bumping into each other with different routes that were always rooted at home
One day these turtles just went home but they still walk different paths yet they were so close to each other
So close.
