About Me
|
So what can I say about myself? I am a bundle of contradictions. And often what you see is what you get! But I do hold my share of mystery and suspense to keep peeps guessing. My motto is simple...if you are there for me, I am there for you and I will hold you down 10000%!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Well...well...well...I know, I know. Its been a minute. My sincerest apologies. Well people dem, everyone knew that dis yah dreadlocks could neva live inna tenament yahd. So I did it! The unthinkable....dis empress bruk way from Babylon and Papa Smurf and him merry band ah chi chi man and quit my job! Yes I know what you all are thinking " Kiss meh granny neckback ah foreign." That is what I initially thought too, but...it was worth every second that I have spent so far. I feel more fulfilled than I ever have in my life, and really wouldn't have it any other way. Although meh bruk, an nuh 'ave no purse (money for the non-Jam downs), through God's grace I am pulling through. Yes meh deh bawl bout deh place cause meh ah suffa, but did the Israelites not suffer at the hands of Ramses? ( Go down Moses/ go down/ way down in Egypt's land/ tell old Pharoah/let my people go). Were the slaves not following the drinking gourd to freedom, while still saying Yes'im before they were could yell " we's in Canada?" The answer is yes. The point is, like them I have an oppressor but I too will rise victorious. In this case my three eyed Medusa is OSAP who steady is trying to convince me that I have the money that I made before I started school, that life is free, and that me nuh have no bills feh pay. Ironic thing is that most of my " sizeable" (lol) salary before I quit was actually going to them to pay previous school loans. But am I discouraged? Not in the least. They promised the slaves 40 acres and a mule when they were first emanicipated.Only 10% of them got it and now they want to take that muthafucka back. Ain't that about a bitch? Well it is for me, but I try not to let it worry me and take heed from my good friend the little orphan Annie cause we dun know its a hard-knock life but the sun is bound to come out tomorrow...MAYBE. As for everyone, who has been calling, praying, laying hands and all that good stuff on me, you are why I refuse to fail. You continue to help God lift me up and use me how he sees fit. For the others who do not know what I went back to school for...Journalism. Go figure huh? I'm loving it and that is definitely worth all the blood, sweat and tears. Just to put a heads up out there if anyone knows anyone that works at a newspaper, tv station, tv show, media publication, public relations firm, magazine, e-magazine, anything that has to do with media, tell them a sista is looking for experience. It could be as little as stuffing envelopes or getting coffee or running errands, I just need to get up in there. And I will do it for FREE! Thank you in advance for the lookout. Well my time is near so let me just say you guys are sooo supportive and that is all we can ever do to brighten a day! Send me a five, a comment, a smoke signal, message via carrier pigeon, whatever...just keep the encouragement and advice coming. As for the suffering, I will slew dem like David did Goliath. As my mom says..."She likkle but she talawah" (lol).
That's my time, B
