So here it goes... This is for R and Gomi who have been asking about my night out at the cookoff :)

and G keeps calling me a slacker also :( lol coz i been promising to post a journal about my night out!! So here it goes Mr.!! *gives u the lifted eyebrow look ^_*  lol..

Well every year the rodeo comes into town, they last here for about a month. Right before the kickoff day they have the cookoff event. Its starts off on a Thursday and ends on that following Saturday. The rodeo is then kicked off two days later, but right b4 then, the mayor holds a parade downtown to welcome all the cowboys and cowgirls :) yee ha!!! lol

Businesses of all kinds, mostly sponsors of the rodeo, set up tents. They cookout and have beer, wine, liquor galore. Some are free, some u have to know ppl at the tent to get in, and some u have to pay to get in.

The one we go to is a Tejano tent, its a group of ppl that go out their way to sell tickets for their tent, and all proceeds r then given to kids in school to get scholarships. They provide food, drinks, and entertainment. The entertainment  starts on Thursday thru Saturday. Music groups from the hispanic culture come to perform, very well known groups from around the states. We always try to go on a Saturday becoz we have more time to get ready and the group that will perform is usually the best one on that night.

Well on this occassion, the tickets were sold out for that Saturday, so we ended up going that Friday.

So tradition is that my sister, and some of our closes friends always go to it every year. We have been going to this for the past 8 to 10 years.

My sister always says she is getting to old for this, I tell her to shut up we hear this from her every year, and guess what?! She is still going lol.. We see wayyyyy older women there with their lil skirts trying to pick up men lol too funny hahahhahaha...

Well b4 we all head out to this event... we all go shopping for an outfit.. yes a girl has to look good... :P we plan all this months b4, ya I know women!! well that's us so get use to it.. we know all men need is a simple shirt and jeans and out they go.. well not n our case ok?!! we have to have the perfect booty jeans lol and the hair has to get did... and the nails also!!!! pfff!! hahahahahah...

So thennnnn... the BIG day as come... 

I began to get ready at about 11:30 am or so.. we were leaving early at about 4.. 

Ya i know all that time to get ready... well let me break it down for u then lol..

My hair is down to my butt.. yes.. its very long.. and I have a lot of it... so it takes me about 30 mins to get it dry. After all the blow drying is done.. I get my curling iron out to smooth out my ends.. which has to b done n sections, starting with the longest part of my hair first. All this takes me about another hour... thennnn comes the make up part...that is simple coz I don't put much on... well then during this time. .my kids get home from school.. and they r asking "mommy where r u going? So I tell them.. the cookoff.. and tell them its only for grown ups, so then mommy has to make up for it and get the McDonalds and take them to my best friends mothers house with her son so they can have a good time also :) lol...

So then we all have gotten ready.. and we r off to meet up with everyone... 

We usually take the subway there.. but it takes an eternityyyyy....so we decided to drive up there... we got there at about 6 n the evening...

They were cooking out already.. and we were all ready for the barbeque..  we had not ate, or at least I didn't eat lunch or dinner so that I can make way for this deeeeelliiiiicccciooouusssss Q..... and what do u know?!!! there wasn't any!!!!! aaaaahhhhh!!!!! It was lent Friday, and the bastards were frying fish!!!! wth!!!! not all of us celebrate Lent day... ughhhh  I was hoping for some ribs!! potato salad!!! nothing!!!! grrr!!! lol.. so we filled our tummys so that the alcohol would not hit us so fast lol...

So we finished eating... and about 6:30 pm we begin to drink... all u can drink, well we paid for our drinking already.. so we r getting our moneys worth lol.. They had beer, whiskey, and margarita mixers.... I'm not a beer drinker unless it Guiness or something else imported... and margaritas eh.. not my kinda drink either... gives me brain freeze lol.. They had no Jack.. so the closes to it was Crown... Crown and coke for me please!!! lol... That's all I drank throughout the night...

We find our spot under the tent.. preferably sumwhere n between the tent and outside near the porta potties lol... oh and also by the bar lol.. we found our perfect spot for every year lol..

So we are there talking and drinking it up and enjoying the dj music for the moment.. playing ol skool hip hop, pop (cover girls), lol and spanish tejano music... wow the memories went as far as middle school with the music.... My best friend and I have been friends for 25 years and when we use to have our lil parties.. the same music was playing and so much laughing and thinking back on those days... we dance with each other.. and no !! no lesbian action going on like that ok? lol

We r cracking jokes and then the first round is gone of drinks.. so then sum1 goes to get n line... and when they get up to the front. .we all jump in and get our drinks lol.. Ya the men behind us get mad.. but we flirt with them and tell them next time we'll let them jump in when their rounds have finished lol that lil eye twinkle always works lol..

So then the live entertainment is about to begin... all the old school tejano songs... were a jam... dancing and laughing the whole night thru... drinks and porta pottie turns n between lol..

When I go, I go to have a great laugh and drink my ass off.. I don't go out all year long and this is my only "ME" time.... I get my moneys worth.. and my laughs as well... 

NO I don't go to pick up guys or get picked up... While I was there..  U can't help but notice how most of them, which r hispanic, r all short and bald... I see over their heads lol sorry but I need a tall man lol.. I don't mind the baldness... but if i can see over ur  head thats not a good thing lol... and then after drinking so much.. they all look the same to me lol....

Yes  I got drunk... but not only that... I hate the smell of cigarrettes.. and it made me go and well... all that effort into going to drink was wasted lol... thank goodness for porta potties lol...

so after all the hours of drinking... all the months of planning.. the night must come to an end... they beging to clear ppl out about 11:30 at night.. but by then we were all wasted and well then we all begin to tell each other how much we love each other lol... everyone and anyone loves u also.. after so many drinks... hahahaahha....

We walk our drunk asses to the car... and role down the windows n case of emergencies.. lol...

Yes i was one of them... hahahaha I have no shame n my game!! lool

I don't remember how or what time we got home... all I know is that my clothes were taken off and i dragged my ass to the bed and woke up with big headache and body was hurting me.. y my body? i have no clue.. but I was ready for some gooood breakfast lol... and we went to eat lunch the next day.. 

Was hoping I would not run into anyone that I seen that night b4 lol..

So there you go.. my night out at the cookoff!!!
